NOTES: Jack Pfefer often recycled names. Most of the aliases for these wrestlers can be
found in his 1949 notebook stored online at Notre Dame University. Some of the spellings
listed are to be questioned.

Mr. America here was Rocco Colombo. By 1950 others were using that alias.
Golden Boy was Lou Bertucci in Akron. Earlier in the year when Jack Pfefer was based in
southern California, Tim Geohagen used that alias.

Ivan Bulba was Johnny Shaw from Texas.
Elmer the Rocket was Herb Larson from Hamilton, Ontario.

Izzy Becker and The Red Demon were reported to be the same wrestler, Tommy Phelps
who worked under the Nature Boy handle in later years.
Benny Becker was a young George Scott.

Gorgeous George Winchell was Johnny “Dutch” Schweigart, who became The Great
Scott.
Gorgeous George Wrangel, in 1950, seemed to become The Mad Baron. I think he was
Joe Arena. Fred Kohler later used him as Baron Arena.

Jack Pfefer had two different wrestlers who worked as the Volga Boatman. The guy here
was not Big Ben Morgan. My records show Morgan to be booked elsewhere.
During the summer of 1950, Morgan returned as The Volga Boatman. He had worked
under that alias as early as 1947.
