Notes:  The match was billed as being to “settle” the title situation.  Another report stated
that it was for the “mythical professional heavyweight world crown.” Thesz was said to be a
protégé of Ed “Strangler” Lewis.  Funk was more than 25 years younger than Thesz.  He
was the “World Wrestling Assn. champion” going into the match, having won the title on
October 5.  4,000+ fans were expected for the show.
