"Superman" Frank Jewel Hickey was born on March 10, 1915 in San Francisco, California, the third child of Daniel and Lorraine Hickey. His father worked as a mechanic, and the family relocated to Los Angeles County in the southern part of the state. On January 16, 1942, Hickey joined the U.S. Army and served overseas. The Los Angeles Examiner (12/18/1945) stated that HIckey had a "long hitch with General George Patton's Third Army in Europe." Hickey wrestled from at least 1945 to the early 1970s, and was known for his colorful ring gear. He also used the name "Bozo Brown." Hickey died on December 8, 1993 in Hart, Kentucky.
