Upstate New York promoter Pedro Martinez wrote to Sam Muchnick in St. Louis in May
1954 and talked about Gene Stanlee, who'd just returned from a tour of South America.  
Martinez said that Gene cleared "over ten grand in two weeks." Martinez went on to
explain that Stanlee was  "prima donna and is a hard guy to do business with," but "his
brother is much easier to do business with." But his brother "isn't the worker that Gene
is." Martinez added that Gene's brother went to South America as well and made $5,000
in two weeks.
