Notes:  This marked Hill’s local debut.  The newspaper indicated that Lewis was “easily
the world’s greatest living authority on the sport.” Managoff was quoted in the Houston
Post as saying “The championship of the world has been my ambition since I was 15
years old.  To me, gaining the championship is the most important thing in my whole life,
much more important than anything else.” He wanted a shot at Sandor Szabo.  Morgan
was a native of Genoa “who is working at present at the Houston Shipbuilding
Corporation.”

not run a paper on Monday.
