Note:  The Indianapolis Star reported that “close to 12,000” fans were in attendance and that
“inspectors still were checking tickets at midnight for the State Athletic Commission; reported
as the “largest crowd ever to witness a professional wrestling match in Indianapolis;” the gate
may have amounted to as much as $28,000; the January 27, 1953 edition of the Indianapolis
Star printed that there were 10,636 fans in attendance and set a wrestling record for the
entire state of Indiana.
