On January 19, 1880 in New York City, Muldoon beat Thiebaud Bauer to capture the Greco-Roman championship. A report out of Denver on December 18, 1901 stated that Josephine Muldoon secured a divorce "today" after testifying that she waited "twelve years" for her wrestler husband, William Muldoon, to return. She was tired of waiting. The Associated Press, on January 15, 1932, reported that Muldoon was given a "partial anaesthetic" for a glandular operation, and he remained conscious - even making jokes and laughing during the operation. Muldoon, nearing 87 years of age, had a "marvelously rugged constitution," according to the doctors. Research by Tim Hornbaker |
