This is a rare collection of wrestling documents that makes for very
interesting reading about a great period of the sport's history.  Topics
include the formation and expansion of the National Wrestling Alliance,
the anti-trust issues and Department of Justice investigation, the
squabbling within the NWA by its rowdy members and various feuds,
and much more.  See the official NWA bulletins written by Sam
Muchnick, the organization president, and letters that go into great
detail about wrestling's behind-the-scenes activities.  A must read for
any serious wrestling fans.

There are about 250 pages.

Including the famous 1957 letter from Quinn to Muchnick withdrawing
from the NWA.  These letters address wrestling “wars,” business
problems, and personal issues.  The gossip from behind-the-scenes of
professional wrestling from the 1940s to the early ’60s  is all here.  Lots
and lots of rare information.  See the style of writing for these
individuals, the letterhead they used, and what they had on their minds
during the heyday of the business.  Many letters talk about other
promoters and the biggest wrestlers in the business.

Also the letter from Muchnick to Kohler from March 1953 talking about
the vote the membership had taken regarding a replacement for the
heavyweight champion if something should have happened to Thesz.
The top contenders in the voting were listed.

Plus the controversial September 1950 letter from Kohler to Muchnick
where he named the wrestlers who worked in opposition to him in
Chicago, leading investigators to believe this was a blacklist or
wrestlers the rest of the NWA should ban from using.  You’ll be
surprised to see who is on this list.

Two other letters from Pedro Martinez of Buffalo are included that
discuss the entire situation with Joe “Toots” Mondt over the purchase
of the Manhattan Booking Agency.  These letters lay out all of the
financial terms, which were controversial to say the least.  The
Martinez-Mondt feud led to the backstage Madison Square Garden
incident where Pedro punched “Toots.”
