*According to the Monday, February 19, 1872 edition of the New York Times, a
tournament was going to be held "at a Houston street house" featuring a number of local
athletes.  Among them was going to be Major J.H. McLaughlin, who had defeated Homer
Lane to claim the championship of America.  McLaughlin wanted an international match,
challenging Jamieson and Wright, two English wrestlers.
