Around 500 fans began to riot after the tag team main event. Julius Helfand of the New York State Athletic Commission reminded promoters and wrestlers on November 20 of previous warnings about circumstances such as this, and demanded a hearing to prevent this from ever happening again. Two policemen had been hurt in the fracas. Gordon S. White Jr. of the New York Times wrote (11/21/57) that the wrestlers who often appear to hate each other in the ring, "travel much of the time as a group. The heroes and villains have been known to room together." Ned Irish, Madison Square Garden executive director, explained that "We will not tolerate conduct conducive to riots." A wrestling show scheduled for November 30 at the Garden had been cancelled. On Friday, November 22, 1957, a hearing was held before the New York Athletic Commission. Rocca, Carpentier, Bruiser, and Graham appeared, and each were fined. Rocca and Graham were fined $1,000 and Bruiser $500. Carpentier was fined only $100. None of the grapplers were suspended.
