Brief History:


Background:


On March 18, 1950, former AWA World Champion Marvin Westenberg suffered a "critical" head injury during a bout with a wrestler he was training, Dom Papaleo.  Westernberg was a "junior partner" in the Boston promotion, according to an article printed in the Berkshire Evening Eagle on April 8, 1950.  The injury necessitated surgery and was expected to be released "soon."

Obituaries:

Former collar-and-elbow champion of the United States, James E. Owens died on December 24, 1880 at his home in Fairfield, Vermont.  Owens died of bronchial problems.
