
Gainesville, Texas: Late December 1911 ( ) ... Scotty McMurdo b. W.E. White to capture the Southwest Middleweight Title Note: McMurdo was from Gainesville. In early January 1912, Harry Faust was in Gainesville working to arrange matches with an unnamed Turkish wrestler and McMurdo. Faust offered to throw either the Turk or McMurdo three times in 60:00. His wife, "Mrs. Faust" was the "female middleweight champion of America." She offered $25 for any woman she couldn't top in 15:00. On Tuesday, January 9, 1912, middleweight wrestler E.M. "Eddie" Collins appeared in Houston looking for matches. He was from Oklahoma City and reportedly been wrestling for seven years. His only loss was to "Tom Volivitch" in Chicago.
