Felix Lupak b. Joe Wallace (2-0) ... Great Daro vs. Hassan Notes: Christensen was said to be the World Light Heavyweight Champion from Denmark, in the Graeco-Roman style. Lopak was said to be the middleweight champion of Racine. The Great Daro was Lou Daro, future Los Angeles promoter. Christensen was originally advertised to wrestle Dr. B.F. Roller, but there was some sort of financial "misunderstanding" between Roller and management of the facility - so the match didn't go on. Christensen instead wrestled Roller's traveling partner. The local newspaper indicated that Joe Stecher backed out of a bout against Christensen at Springfield, Massachusetts. Christensen came to the U.S. three years earlier. MacMurray wrestled both Farmer Burns and Frank Gotch. Don't know if the Daro-Hussan match took place. Research by Tim Hornbaker April 26, 2011 |
