(Los Angeles Athletic Club) ... Ny Williams and Weber beat Frank Gotch and Dan McLeod ... NOTE: Sorry folks, this was a handball game not a tag team match. Gotch was said to have been unable to get the ball off the back wall. Gotch did work out with Weber, Al Ferguson and Ray Thompson in mat contests later.

Los Angeles Times: February 28, 1916

Frank Gotch is mad with the San Francisco promoter, Harry Foley and the newspapers of that city. When he asked for a postponement of his February 22 match with Ad Santel there, he was given a terrible roasting. Gotch explained that he knew that he could not be in good enough shape by that date.

Los Angeles Times: March 2, 1916

Frank Gotch is having trouble getting into shape because he can’t find any wrestlers who want to train with him. His only workout partner now is Noah Young, who is a weight lifter not a wrestler.

NOTE: Kaveres is said to be 25 years old and wrestling for eight years. He also claimed to be the son of Greek George, who weighted 240 pounds and was known as the “Eugene Sandow of Europe.”

Costello was a large pot-bellied party with a mean disposition, and a tattooed American flag festooning his manly bosom. Both weighed 240 pounds. Kaveres wrestled in bare weight.

She was a pupil of Eugene Sandow. Six years ago she went to London to wrestle at the Hippodrome. Later with six other women wrestlers she came to the United States and entered a tournament in Hammerstein’s roof garden.
