Londos stated that he was in WoodlawnHospital in Chicago, and would be there for a week. Left without a main event, Stecher instead booked Bill Kuusisto against Ray Steele.
Bill Kuusisto claimed Londos’ world heavyweight title following the latter’s failed appearance in Minneapolis. Promoter Tony Stecher backed Kuusisto’s decision.
World championship claimant Jim Londos had an operation on his right arm in Chicago and stated that he lost approximately $10,000 for his missing engagements within a four week time period.
