announced that promoter Frank Schuler was going to attempt to revive professional
wrestling beginning a week from Tuesday.

Notes:  A few hundred individuals made it into the Auditorium without paying an admission
price; Lewis received 30% of the gate - $1,660.20; Santell received 35% of the gate -
$1,936.90 – plus a percentage of the promotional side of the match giving him a total of
$2,200.  In preparation for the match, Lewis trained at the Olympic Club with Gus
Korvoras.  Promoter Frank Schuler signed a rematch betweed Ed “Strangler” Lewis and Ad
Santell.  Lewis would work out at the San Francisco YMCA gymnasium.

*On Thursday, December 28, 1916, San Francisco promoter Frank Schuler received an
agreement from Joe Hetmanek, the manager of World Champion Joe Stecher, for a match
against the winner of the Santell-Lewis match.  Stecher would be in San Francisco for the
match on February 22, 1917.
