*A report across the United Press wire in newspapers on Friday, April 3, 1936 that stated
that “Wrestling fans today were deprived of part of their fun by an order of the state athletic
commission which prohibits sale of bottled beverages at matches.  Too many fans were
pegging the empties at the performers, it was decided.”


*It was reported on Sunday, May 3, 1936 that George S. Miehling, 74, died in San
Francisco.  He suffered from an infection following a knee injury.  Miehling was a former
wrestling champion.
