On Saturday, September 19, 1925, promoter Sam Avey announced that he'd signed a
match between World Heavyweight champion Ed "Strangler" Lewis and Wayne Munn for
October 7 "with the diamond-studded belt won by Lewis in a tournament promoted by Tex
Rickard several years ago, and symbolic of the title, at stake."

The match was apparently moved to October 8.
