
Publicity billed Lopez as an ex-cowboy from Mexico who was educated in an American university. He was known for his elbow smash and through his career, wrestled in Asia, Canada, Mexico, and Europe. On July 24, 1935 in Los Angeles, Vincent Lopez beat Man Mountain Dean to capture the World Heavyweight championship, recognized by West Coast promotional czar Lou Daro and the California State Athletic Commission.
