WrestleMania I
-Took place on Sunday, March 31, 1985 at New York’s Madison Square Garden.  
Amidst a bevy of promotions, both positive and negative, the card was the World
Wrestling Federation’s biggest to date.  Shown on an estimated 135 closed-circuit
television locations throughout the world and headlined by a man who was carrying the
organization on his back.  Hulk Hogan was the man choking out the competition,
figuratively.  Appeared on “Hot Properties” hosted by Richard Belzer to promote the
show, and demonstrated a face lock on the comedian.  Belzer fell to the ground
unconscious and needed eight stitches to close an open wound.  On the other hand,
Hogan and his partner for the main event, Mr. T were co-hosts on Saturday Night Live
the night before the show in New York.  Several celebrities attended the show, and even
participated in the events.  Cyndi Lauper was an acting manager for Wendi Richter.  
Liberace, the Rocketts, Muhammad Ali and baseball manager, Billy Martin all had acting
roles in the main event.

Hulk Hogan and Mr. T vs. Roddy Piper and Paul Orndorff.  Hogan pinned Orndorff
               after Bob Orton missed a jump off the top rope and hit his ally.

Greg Valentine, WWF Intercontinental Champion.  Junkyard
               Dog won by countout but was unable to take the I-C Title.

WrestleMania II
-Occurred on Monday, April 7, 1986 in three separate locations.  The Sports Arena in
Los Angeles, The Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, NY and the Rosemont Horizon in the
suburbs of Chicago.  One show for the three biggest cities in the United States, each
location to air four matches live.  Ray Charles opened the show from New York singing
“America the Beautiful.”  The second WrestleMania was the initial shown on pay-
television.

WrestleMania III
-Held on Sunday, March 29, 1987.  Over 70,000 fans at the Silverdome in Pontiac,
Michigan to witness the event live.  A larger then life main event was promoted, and the
build up was executed without a flaw.  Andre the Giant, the world’s biggest face, turned
against his fans, demanding a World Title Shot against Hulk Hogan while being
interviewed by Roddy Piper on the Pit.  Andre exclaimed his point by ripping the shirt
from the champion and even the crucifix.  There was no stopping fans from lining up to
see their match and the WWF allowed as many as humanly possible, to attend the 3rd
annual event.  A dome used for professional football without a divider.  When it was all
said and done, the show had lived up to it’s billing.  Exceeding all expectations.  The
show was billed as “Bigger, Badder, Better.” Aretha Franklin opened the show.
-Commentators:  Gorilla Monsoon and Jesse Ventura, with Bob Uecker and Mary Hart as
       special guests.

               after a body-slam and a leg-drop.

               Notes:  Hebner was knocked out and the champion landed his elbow drop.  
               There was no official to count the winning fall.  Savage drops from the ring
               and takes the ring bell from the time-keeper, with force.  He scales to the top
               rope, but Steele enters the picture and takes the weapon from him.  Savage
               regains the tool and goes back up to the top, only to be pushed by the
               “Animal” back to the canvas.  The two get up and seconds later, a pin.
               -Steamboat was accompanied by George Steele.
               -Savage was accompanied by Elizabeth.

WrestleMania IV
-The first WWF World Heavyweight Title Tournament was held on Sunday, March 27,
1988 in Atlantic City, NJ.  The show was held at the Convention Center in the Trump
Plaza Hotel.  Vacant since February, the World Title was up for grabs between fourteen
competitors in an open forum of the World Wrestling Federation’s top stars.  A business
deal between media mogul, Donald Trump and Vince McMahon brought the WWF’s
annual event to the venue and would do so in 1989 as well.  The event was shown at
more then 160 closed-circuit locations around the United States and Canada.  
WrestleMania was also available to a large pay-per-view audience.  Glades Knight sang
“America the Beautiful” after Gene Okerlund opened the show.
-Commentators:  Gorilla Monsoon, Jesse Ventura and Bob Uecker.  Uecker went looking
for Vanna White during the show.  Robin Leach proclaimed that the tournament should
begin.  Sugar Ray Leonard was in the crowd with his family.  Donald Trump was at
ringside.
        -Vacant WWF World Heavyweight Title Tournament – 14 competitors, 12 in round
                one, 2 receive a bye into round two.

                arena floor, fought with each eliminated.  Another addition, Steele eliminated
                Jim Neidhart from outside the ring, pulling him over by his beard).
        -Final:  Junkyard Dog, Bret Hart and Bad News Brown were the final three in the
                ring.  Brown clotheslined Hart by accident after aiming for JYD.  Brown and
                Hart teamed up to eliminate Dog.  Brown attacked Hart and hit his “ghetto
                blaster.” Hart was eliminated and Brown won the event.
                -The trophy was presented to Brown.  Hart attacked Brown from behind and
                smashed the prize into pieces.
Crowd Estimate:  18,000.

WrestleMania V
-The second straight year WrestleMania had been held at Atlantic City’s Convention
Center in Trump Plaza.  “The Mega-Powers’ Explosion” was held on Sunday, April 2,
1989 in New Jersey. WrestleMania V was available on pay-per-view.  Run DMC
performed on the show.
        -
Hulk Hogan vs. WWF World Heavyweight Champion, Randy Savage.  Hogan won
                by pinfall after kicking out of Savage’s elbow from the top-rope.  Hogan
                landed his big boot and leg drop prior to scoring the winning three-count.
               -Elizabeth was in a neutral corner.  She was ordered to the dressing room
                during the bout.
               -Referee:  Dave Hebner.
        -The Powers of Pain (Barbarian and Warlord) and Mr. Fuji vs. Demolition (Ax and
                Smash), WWF World Tag Team Champions.  Demolition won and retained
                their belts.  Ax pinned Fuji.
               -Handicap Match for the belts.
        -Rick Rude vs. WWF Intercontinental Champion,
The Ultimate Warrior.  Rude
                pinned Warrior while Heenan held the champion’s left leg down.  The Warrior
                tried to suplex Rude back into the ring when he was caught.
               -Rude was accompanied by his manager, Bobby Heenan.
               -Other Notes:  Warrior got Heenan alone in the ring after the bout, and
                pressed him above his head with a gorilla slam.  Heenan suffered a back
                injury.

                Roberts and Andre began to choke Studd in the ring.  Roberts threw his
                snake into the ring to force Andre to release his hold and run.

WrestleMania VI
-Held on Sunday, April 1, 1990 in Toronto’s brand new Skydome.  The first annual
WrestleMania show held out of the continental United States.  An important one.  The
show was billed as “The Ultimate Challenge.” Robert Goulet sang the National Anthem
for the United States and Canada.  Steve Allen, comedian, also performed.

The Ultimate Warrior vs. WWF World
                Heavyweight Champion,
Hulk Hogan.  Warrior pinned Hogan to win the WWF
                World Title and became a double champion.  Hogan kicked out of a gorilla
                press and splash to start the comeback he is famous for.  Hogan landed a big
                boot and missed his legdrop.  Warrior landed a second big splash and scored
                the winning pin.

               -Other Notes:  Hogan presented the Warrior with the WWF World Belt, then
                raised his hand.  
       -Demolition (Ax and Smash) vs. The Colossal Connection (

                pinned Haku.
               -The Connection were managed by Bobby Heenan.

Ted DiBiase vs. Jake Roberts, who possessed DiBiase’s Million Dollar Belt and
                claimed to be the champion.  DiBiase won by countout.
                -Million Dollar Belt was on the line, the belt was in Roberts’ snake bag.  Virgil    
                stole the belt back.

Dusty Rhodes and Sapphire vs. Randy Savage and Sherri Martel.  Sapphire
                pinned Martel after being helped by Elizabeth.

                Other Notes:  After the victory, the three victors celebrated in the ring.  During
                the match, Savage threw Sapphire out of his way as he went for Rhodes,
                making the mixed match as real as possible for the period.

-Held on Sunday, April 2, 1995 at the Hartford, Connecticut Civic Center.  The 11th
installment of WrestleMania.  Todd Pettengail opened the pre-show, discussing the
numerous matches and events.  The Lawrence Taylor introduction to the pay-per-view
was obviously the biggest highlight of the card due to the fact that he was a former
football star and very well known to the outward public.  The World Wrestling Federation
used Taylor’s feud with Bam Bam Bigelow in attempt to bring the numbers up.  Draw in
Taylor’s football fans and make them WWF fans.  The plan worked.  Gorilla Monsoon
and Jim Ross among others presented the show in outline fashion.  The dramatics of
the show were in full effect.  Pamela Anderson was another promoted highlight of the
show, along with Nicholas Tuttero and Jonathan Taylor Thomas.  Salt and Pepper also
sang before the Bigelow-Taylor match and at the end of the show.  Appearances and
interviews from Steve McMichael, Neal Anderson and several other football players were
also presented.

               -Joey Abs pinned Rodney.

               -After the match, Pete Rose was chokeslammed by Kane and then given the
                Rikishi drop in a corner.
               -The San Diego Chicken had danced with Rikishi and Too Cool prior to Rose’s
                appearance with a baseball bat.
        -Eddy Guerrero, Perry Saturn and Dean Malenko, WWF World Light Heavyweight
                Champion vs. Too Cool (Grandmaster Sexay and Scotty Too Hotty) and
                Chyna.  Chyna pinned Guerrero.
        -The Kat vs. Terri.  Terri won after the Kat was counted out of the ring.
               -Special Catfight.
                -Kat was accompanied by Mae Young.
               -Terri was accompanied by the Fabulous Moolah.
               -Both Young and Moolah participated in the match.
               -Special Referee:  Val Venis.
        -Steve Blackman and Al Snow vs. T&A (Albert and Test).  Test pinned Blackman.
               -T and A were accompanied by Trish Stratus.
               -Before the match, Snow introduced Chester McCheesitan, a human block of
                cheese.
               -After the match, Snow placed Chester in the ring and both men attacked him.
        -D-Lo Brown and The Godfather vs. Big Bossman and Bull Buchanan.  Buchanan
                pinned Brown.
               -Brown and Godfather were accompanied by Ice-T.

WrestleMania XVII
-The show was held at the Reliant Astrodome in Houston, Texas on Sunday, April 1,
2001.  Billed as WrestleMania X-7.  Motorhead performed live as Hunter Hearst
Helmsley made his way to the ring.  
Commentators:  Jim Ross and Paul Heyman.  Among the other names present were
Howard Finkel, Bobby Heenan and Gene Okerlund.  Several wrestlers from World
Championship Wrestling were also in the arena.
       -Steve Austin vs. The Rock, WWF World Heavyweight Champion.  Austin pinned
                Rock to capture the WWF World Title.
                -Special No Disqualification Match.
               -Referee:  Earl Hebner, who was knocked out of the ring towards the end of
                the match.
                -Both men bled heavily.
                -Vince McMahon walked out during the match and later stopped a Rock pin
                attempt of Austin.
                -The Rock chased McMahon and was caught by Austin’s version of the Rock
                Bottom.  Rock kicked out of a pin.
                -McMahon brought a chair into the ring and hit Rocky in the end.  The Rock
                kicked out of a pin attempt.
                -McMahon played a further part in the match, handing a second chair to
                Austin, which was used by “Stone Cold.”
                -Austin used the chair to hit Rock in the throat and back, many times.  The
                chair shots led to the final pinfall.  Austin and McMahon faced off in the ring
                after the match.  They shook hands to seal their newfound alliance.
       -Chyna vs. Ivory, WWF Women’s World Champion.  Chyna pinned Ivory for the title.
       -Christian and Edge vs. The Hardy Boys (Jeff and Matt Hardy) vs. The Dudley Boys
                (Buh Buh Ray and D-Von Dudley), WWF World Tag Team Champions.  
                Christian and Edge won the belts.
               -Tables, Ladders and Chairs II.
               -Spike Dudley ran out to help the Dudleys.
               -Rhyno ran out to help Christian and Edge.
               -Lita ran out to help the Hardys, but ended up in the “3D” by the Dudley Boys.
               -Jeff Hardy delievered a swanton on Rhino and Spike on the arena floor.
               -Edge speared Jeff Hardy from the ladder onto the mat.
               -Rhino pushed Matt Hardy and Buh Buh Ray Dudley off a ladder and through
                four tables on the floor.
                -Christian, on Rhino’s shoulders, grabbed both WWF Tag Title Belts and won
                the match.
       -William Regal vs. Chris Jericho, WWF Intercontinental Champion.  Jericho pinned
                Regal to retain his championship.
       -The Big Show vs. Kane vs. Raven, WWF World Hardcore Champion.  Kane won
                the title.
               -Three-Way Championship Match.
       -Eddie Guerrero vs. Test, WWF European Heavyweight Champion.  Guerrero
                pinned Test to win the belt.
               -Guerrero was accompanied by Perry Saturn.
       -Kurt Angle vs. Chris Benoit.  Angle pinned Benoit.
       -Shane McMahon vs. Vince McMahon.  Shane pinned his father for the win.
               -Special Referee:  Mick Foley.
       -Hunter Hearst Helmsley vs. The Undertaker.  Undertaker won.
       -The Acolytes (Justin Bradshaw and Faarooq) and Taz vs. Right to Censor (Bull
                Buchanan, The Good Father and Val Venis).  Bradshaw pinned Good Father.
               -RTC were accompanied by Stevie Richards.
       -Gimmick Battle Royal.  The Iron Sheik won.
       PARTICIPANTS:  The Bushwhackers, Doink the Clown, Duke Droese, Jim Cornette,
                Brother Love, Gobbely Gooker, Hillbilly Jim, Kamala, Repo Man, Nicolai
                Volkoff, The Goon, Sgt. Slaughter, Iron Sheik, Tugboat, One Man Gang and
                Michael Hayes.
       -Justin Credible and X-Pac vs. Steve Blackman and Grand Master Sexy.  Credible
                and Pac won.

WrestleMania XVIII
-The 18th installment of WrestleMania was going to be one of the most remembered in
WWF History.  The event took place at the Skydome in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on
Sunday, March 17, 2002.  Saliva opened the wrestling program.  Drowning Pool also
played during the show.  During the show, Hulk Hogan told his NWO members Scott Hall
and Kevin Nash that he has to fight the Rock by himself.  Nash and Hall had been
plotting to interfere and take out their aggressions out on The Rock.  After Hogan’s
speech, Hall and Nash said that they still were going to interfere.
-Commentary:  Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler.
       -Hunter Hearst Helmsley vs. Chris Jericho, WWF Undisputed World Heavyweight
                Champion.
               -Helmsley came out to Saliva playing live.
               -Jericho was accompanied by Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley.
               -Jericho carried two belts.
       -Lita vs. Trish Stratus vs. Jazz, WWF Women’s World Champion.  Jazz pinned Lita
                to retain after a fisherman’s suplex off the turnbuckle.
               -Three-way match.
       -Four Corners Elimination Tag Team Match.  The Dudley Boys (Bubba and D-Von
                Dudley) vs. The APA (Bradshaw and Faarooq) vs. The Hardy Boys (Jeff and
                Matt Hardy) vs. Billy and Chuck, WWE World Tag Team Champions.  Billy and
                Chuck retained their title.
       Number Eliminated:
                1.        D-Von pinned Bradshaw after a 3-D.  The APA were eliminated.
                2.        Matt pinned Bubba after a Twist of Fate and than a Swanton Bomb by
                                Jeff.
                3.        Chuck pinned Jeff after Billy smashed the latter with a title belt.
               -The Dudleys were accompanied by Stacy Keibler.
               -Saliva played for the Dudley’s enterance and the latter even danced with the
                band for a few minutes.
                -Lita did not accompany the Hardys.
                -Referee:  Nick Patrick.
       -Rob Van Dam vs. William Regal, WWF Intercontinental Champion.  Van Dam
                pinned Regal and captured the I-C Title.

Hollywood Hulk Hogan vs. The Rock.  The Rock pinned Hogan for the victory.
               -Hogan came out with a black and white feather boa and to his NWO music.
               -A huge response from the crowd for Hogan.
               -Hogan landed one legdrop and the Rock kicked out of a pinfall.
               -The Rock landed two consecutive Rock Bottoms and a People’s elbow for the
                pinfall.
               -After the match, Hogan extended his hand to the Rock and they shook.
               -Kevin Nash and Scott Hall joined Hogan in the ring after the Rock left.
               -Nash and Hall attacked Hogan.  The Rock returned to make the save.
               -The Rock beckoned for Hogan to pose for the crowd.  The fans went wild.
               -Hogan posed for the crowd.  A  massive response.
               -Hogan and The Rock walked out together.
       -Steve Austin vs. Scott Hall.  Austin pinned Hall after two consecutive stunners.
               -Hall was accompanied by Kevin Nash, who interfered in the match.
               -The referee was knocked out.
               -Nash was removed from the ring area by a group of referees.
       -Ric Flair vs. The Undertaker.  ‘Taker pinned Flair after a tombstone piledriver.
               -Special No Disqualification Match.
               -Both Flair and Undertaker bled.
               -Referee:  Charles Robinson, who was attacked by the Undertaker during the
                match.
               -Late in the contest, Arn Anderson interfered, but was beaten and also bled.
       -Christian vs. Dallas Page, WWF European Heavyweight Champion.  Page pinned
                Christian to retain his championship after a Diamond Cutter.
       -Booker T vs. Edge.  Edge won by pinfall.
       -Kurt Angle vs. Kane.  Angle pinned Kane.
Hardcore Title Switches:
       -Official Match.  Goldust vs. Maven, WWF World Hardcore Champion.  Spike
                Dudley ran out and pinned Maven, capturing the World Hardcore Title.
       -Hurricane Helms pinned Spike Dudley for the belt.
       -Mighty Molly pinned Hurricane Helms and captured the belt.
       -Christian pinned Mighty Molly and won the belt.  She was knocked out after
                running into a door closed by Christian.
       -Maven pinned Christian and captured the belt.  He sped away in a taxicab.

WrestleMania XIX
-The nineteenth edition of WrestleMania was held on Sunday, March 30, 2003 at
SAFECO Field in Seattle, Washington.  Ashanti sang America the Beautiful.  Limp Bizkit
performed after the first match and transitioned into the second match with the
Undertaker’s arrival.  Goldberg promos ran during the show for Backlash.  Limp Bizkit
performed a second time.
-Commentators:  Raw Brand Matches – Jerry Lawler and Jim Ross.  Smackdown Brand
Matches – Michael Cole and Tazz.
       
        -Rey Misterio Jr. vs. Matt Hardy, Version I, WWE World Cruiserweight Champion.  
                Hardy pinned Misterio to retain his title with help from the ropes.
               -Hardy was accompanied by Shannon Moore, who played a part in the match.
               -Misterio would kick out of the Twist of Fate, Hardy’s finisher.
       -The Undertaker vs. The A-Train and The Big Show.  ‘Taker pinned A-Train after a
                tombstone.
               -Undertaker rode to the ring on his bike with an American Flag, as Limp Bizkit
                played.
               -Handicap Match.
               -The Undertaker’s partner Nathan Jones was injured before the show.
               -During the match, Jones ran out and helped the ‘Taker win.
       -Jazz vs. Trish Stratus vs. Victoria, WWE Women’s World Champion.  Stratus
                pinned Victoria and captured the World Title.
               -Victoria was accompanied by Steven Richards, who participated in the bout.
       -Chris Benoit and Rhyno vs. Chavo Jr. and Eddy Guerrero vs. Team Angle (Shelton
                Benjamin and Charlie Haas), WWE World Tag Team Champions.  Benjamin
                pinned Chavo Jr. to retain the WWE Tag Title after Rhyno gored the latter.
       -Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Michaels.  Michaels pinned Jericho.
               -After the match, Jericho laid Michaels out with a low blow following an
                embrace.
       -The Miller Lite Catfight Girls vs. Stacy Keibler vs. Torrie Wilson.  Everyone won.
               -Four-way pillowfight.
               -Jonathan Coachman got involved in the “brawl” and all of the girls “beat” on
                        him.
       -Booker T vs. Hunter Hearst Helmsley, World Heavyweight Champion.  Helmsley
                pinned Booker to retain his championship.
               -Helmsley was accompanied by Ric Flair, who also participated in the match.
Sunday Night Heat:
       -Hosts:  Jonathan Coachman and Lita.
       -Commentators:  Jerry Lawler and Jim Ross.
       -John Cena came out and began to speak and his microphone failed to work.  
                Finally, it did and he said that he challenged rappers to come and face him.  
                Jay-Z and Fabulous both failed to appear.  Cena talked smack about both
                rappers.
       -Nunzio swiped Nathan Jones’ wallet.  Jones chased him into the lockerrom and was
                jumped by The Big Show and A-Train.
       -Kane and Rob Van Dam vs. Chief Morley and Lance Storm, World Tag Team
                Champions.  Storm pinned Van Dam to retain the belts.
               -Morley and Storm were accompanied by The Dudley Boys.
               -Kane chokeslammed Storm and then Van Dam went for a frog splash, but was
                pushed from the top rope by Morley.  The Dudleys 3D’d Storm.  D-Von tossed
                Van Dam into the ring and then Bubba attacked him, leading to the final pin.
