NOTE: It was planned for Sandor Szabo to defend his NWA title against Orville Brown on October
19, the following Sunday. On Wednesday October 15, promoter Pinkie George announced that
he was closing down for this summer. The Szabo appearance was cancelled because the
champion would have to stay over in Iowa from Wednesday to Sunday and in view of uncertain
weather conditions the local promoter thought best to close for the season. Szabo promised to
come to Waterloo next summer and defend his title if he were still champion.
